Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Credit Analyst to approve or deny extensions of credit and to provide recommendations to lending decision-makers.

The role involves conducting comprehensive credit analyses, evaluating customer portfolios, and identifying risk to maximize credit quality. The ideal candidate has a strong background in economics, accounting or finance, excellent analytical and report-writing skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Typically six or more years of relevant experience.
• Strong credit analysis and analytical skills.
• In-depth knowledge of credit analysis, credit administration, credit policy and procedures, and risk analysis.
• Background in economics, accounting, and/or finance.
• Effective technical report writing skills and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Approve or deny extensions of credit and make lending recommendations.
• Conduct complete credit analyses for existing and prospective customers.
• Review accounts and portfolios to identify risk and determine courses of action.
• Use software tools to support credit analysis and compare possible actions.
