Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Credit Analyst to approve or recommend credit extensions for loans, performing comprehensive analyses of customers and portfolios. You will use quantitative tools to compare actions and inform lending decisions, aiming to maximize credit quality and minimize potential losses.

The role requires a strong background in credit analysis, economics or finance, and excellent writing and communication skills to document findings and recommendations for senior decision makers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Typically six or more years of relevant experience.
• Strong credit analysis and analytical skills.
• In-depth knowledge of credit analysis, credit administration, credit policy and procedures, and risk analysis.
• Background in economics, accounting, and/or finance.
• Effective technical report writing skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages.
• Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Approve or deny the extension of credit on loans including new, renewal and extension loans.
• Conduct complete credit analysis by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting credit information on existing and prospective customers.
• Identify, evaluate and determine actions on potential credit quality issues to maximize credit quality and minimize risk.
