Job summary

Hoist & Crane Service Group Inc. seeks a Senior Technician, a heavy equipment mechanic specializing in crane modernization and repair. You will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and upgrades, and lead field technicians while liaising with management and customers.

This safety‑minded, on-call role requires strong communication, the ability to work at customer sites, and travel 20–50%. You will inspect cranes, mentor staff, complete reports, and support after‑hours service as needed.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years crane repair & maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to work off the ground at various heights.
• Basic computer skills for web-based crane inspection programs.
• Ability to communicate well with others and work independently or as a team.
• Knowledge of hand tools and/or possess hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Be on-call and provide after-hours services as required.
• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and upgrade industrial hoists and cranes in customer locations.
• Train and mentor field technicians.
• Perform OSHA required crane inspections and generate inspection reports and repair orders.
• Communicate with Service Manager and Branch Manager to schedule and complete daily work.
• Consult with customers regarding repair and safety issues and discuss recommendations to improve services.
• Maintain all company equipment, vehicles, and assets in safe working order.
• Operate tools, equipment and vehicles safely; notify supervisor of deficiencies.
• Maintain supplies in the company vehicle and participate in training programs.
• Attend trainings and seminars and participate in the 5 Marks program.
