Job summary

Hoist & Crane Service Group is seeking a Senior Technician to serve as a heavy equipment mechanic specializing in crane modernization, repair, and upgrades. The role emphasizes self-sufficiency, leadership, clear communication, and professionalism to guide field technicians and liaise with management and customers.

The position works in a safety-first environment for a 24/7 service company, requiring on-call availability and possible after-hours or weekend travel to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years crane repair and maintenance experience.
• 3–4 years electrical and/or mechanical experience can substitute for crane repair experience.
• Valid driver license and acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to work off the ground at various heights.
• Basic computer skills for web-based crane inspection programs.
• Good communication and teamwork; self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities

• Be on-call and provide after-hours services as required.
• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and upgrade industrial hoists and cranes at customer sites.
• Train and mentor field technicians.
• Perform OSHA required crane inspections and generate inspection reports and repair orders.
• Communicate with Service Manager and Branch Manager to schedule daily work.
• Consult with customers on repair and safety issues and recommendations.
