Job summary

Dow Inc. is seeking a Senior Counsel for its Commercial & Innovation Law group in Houston, TX. You will provide strategic legal counsel on transactional matters across hydrocarbons, feedstocks, and energy and climate businesses.

You will review agreements, manage outside counsel, mentor junior staff, and partner with business teams to mitigate risk while enabling value creation in a global, science-driven company.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or Master of Laws.
• 4+ years practicing as in-house counsel or corporate/transactional attorney.
• Admission to State Bar or eligible for admission.
• U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Simplify and solve strategic-level legal challenges for global clients.
• Review and draft documents; identify legal risk; provide tailored solutions.
• Host client legal trainings consistent with the team’s curriculum.
• Demonstrate teamwork, communication, and timely delivery under pressure.
• Collaborate with legal, business, and non-legal colleagues; share knowledge.
• Proactively communicate with Legal management and clients.
• Delegate work to paralegals and staff; align resources with priorities.
• Manage outside counsel per policy, balancing cost and risk.
