Job summary

Dow Inc. in Houston, TX seeks a Senior Counsel in its Commercial & Innovation Law group to provide strategic legal counsel on a wide range of transactional matters across the Hydrocarbons, Feedstocks and Energy & Climate businesses.

You will partner with business teams to identify legal risks, draft and negotiate agreements, oversee outside counsel, and contribute to Dow's values of integrity, respect and safety while supporting global growth. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or Master of Laws.
• A minimum of 4 years practicing as in-house counsel or as a corporate/commercial/transactional attorney.
• Admission to State Bar or eligible for admission.
• U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship is available.

Responsibilities

• Be a simplifier and solver of strategic-level legal challenges for clients in a global science and technology company.
• Review and draft legal documents, identify potential legal risks, and provide tailored solutions.
• Host client legal training and education on topics aligned with risk mitigation practices.
• Demonstrate teamwork, legal tech savviness, and strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Collaborate within a team of legal professionals and cross-functional colleagues; support development of staff.
• Proactively communicate with Legal team management and clients.
• Delegate work to paralegals and support staff effectively to align with skills and education.
• Manage outside counsel and external resources per Legal dept. policies.
