Job summary

Dow Inc. in Houston, TX, seeks a Senior Counsel in its Commercial & Innovation Law group to provide legal counsel on transactional matters across Hydrocarbons, Feedstocks and Energy & Climate businesses.

You will review documents, draft agreements and guide risk mitigation for diverse internal clients. You will collaborate with a global team, manage outside counsel, and coach junior staff while advancing Dow's compliance and business objectives.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or Master of Laws required.
• Minimum 4 years in-house counsel or corporate/transactional experience.
• Admission to State Bar; US work authorization with no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice on transactional matters for Hydrocarbons, Feedstocks and Energy & Climate business units.
• Review and draft complex agreements and assist in risk assessment for business initiatives.
• Lead client training and education programs on legal risk and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to allocate work and manage resources.
• Manage outside counsel and ensure alignment with department policies and budgets.
• Support leadership with timely, clear legal guidance and practical solutions.
• Demonstrate strong negotiation, communication and project-management skills.
