Job summary

Dow Inc. is seeking a Senior Counsel in its Commercial & Innovation Law group in Houston, TX. You will advise on transactional matters within hydrocarbons, feedstocks, and energy sectors, and lead legal risk assessments for global clients.

The role emphasizes collaboration with business teams, management of outside counsel, and driving practical solutions while upholding Dow's values and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or Master of Laws.
• 4+ years practicing as in-house counsel or as a corporate/commercial/transactional attorney.
• Admission to State Bar or eligible for admission.
• U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship/green-card support.

Responsibilities

• Be a simplifier and solver of strategic-level legal challenges for clients in a global, science and technology driven company.
• Review and draft legal documents, identify potential legal risk, and provide solutions for end customers.
• Host client legal training and education on topics aligned with risk mitigation practices.
• Exhibit teamwork, legal tech savviness, and strong negotiation and communication skills under tight deadlines.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team and develop staff to allocate work appropriately.
• Proactively communicate with legal team management and clients.
• Delegate work to appropriate resources to balance education, experience, and capacity.
• Manage outside counsel and external resources per policy and risk appetite.
