Job summary

Colliers International in the United States is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator to join our Global Occupier Services team. You will provide expert cost guidance to project managers and the real estate group on international client accounts.

The role requires 10+ years of cost estimating experience, a bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering, and proficiency with BIM, CostX, Cost databases, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in Cost Estimating and Management (pre-contract and post-contract) required.
• Special knowledge in typical cost benchmarks for industrial buildings and related factors.
• Ability to critically review and challenge presented cost plans for quality and accuracy.
• Proficiency with most applicable contract types and consulting on contract management topics.
• Must have international experience working on industrial construction projects.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with digital design methods like BIM and cost databases.
• Structured and organized approach; self-starter mindset.
• Special skills in applications such as RIB iTwo or CostX or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain processes for effective cost management procedures.
• Oversee internal construction activities for Client worldwide; help define realistic budgets based on project requirements and procurement strategy.
• Identify cost risks and develop mitigation measures with project teams.
• Provide cost estimates from preliminary to detailed levels across project life cycle.
• Evaluate cost control measures and review forecasts to safeguard budget and cash-out plans.
• Leverage cost/time efficient construction methods to help deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Support PM in value engineering, price negotiations, and change management with GC.
• Collaborate closely with PM for project success and client growth targets.
