Job summary

Colliers is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Estimator to support a multinational client. You will develop cost management processes, define budgets with PMs, and collaborate to keep projects on time and within budget across regions.

The role requires 10+ years in cost estimating, knowledge of industrial cost benchmarks, and proficiency in BIM-based tools like iTwo or CostX. Strong MS Office skills and international project experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in Cost Estimating and Management (pre-contract and post-contract) required.
• Special knowledge in typical cost benchmarks for industrial buildings and relevant cost influencing factors.
• Ability to critically review and challenge cost plans for quality and accuracy before management approval.
• Proficiency in contract types (Design-Bid-Build, Design & Build, cost plus fees, BTS-Lease) for consultations on management topics.
• Must have international experience working on industrial construction projects.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with BIM and cost databases.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain processes for effective cost management procedures.
• Guide and support PMs in defining realistic budgets for construction projects based on project requirements, procurement strategy, contract type, codes, and market conditions.
• Identify significant cost risks and develop mitigation measures with project teams.
• Provide cost estimates in various stages of the project life cycle from preliminary to detailed.
• Evaluate cost control measures and review forecasts to safeguard budget and cash-out plan adherence.
• Leverage cost and time effective construction methods to help deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Support PM in value engineering, price, and claim negotiations with the General Contractor when cost optimizations are required.
• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager for overall project success and growth targets.
