Job summary

The GEO Group is seeking an Administrative Captain to supervise correctional personnel and oversee custody, security and treatment activities with general supervision. This role requires independent judgment and the ability to coordinate training and operations across shifts.

Candidates should have at least three years of correctional experience, supervisory duties, and strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must meet the qualifications as an Officer.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a correctional setting, one of which was in a supervisory capacity.
• Must be emotionally stable and empathetic to detainees and staff.
• Working knowledge of laws relating to corrections.
• Ability to interpret complex written and oral communication, documents, and instructions.
• Ability to write communication documents and policies.

Responsibilities

• Directs the work of other employees, including hiring, evaluating performance, training and disciplinary actions.
• Reviews disciplinary matters concerning staff and detainees.
• Ensures policies and procedures for custody, security and treatment are implemented.
• Responds to major unusual occurrences and provides assistance to detainees/inmates as needed.
• Maintains daily logs and prepares records and reports as assigned by management.
• Directs work and provides training and inspections of staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
