Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework and advanced training in behavioral sciences, correctional services, or related field preferred.
• Three (3) years of experience working in a correctional setting, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Must be mature, flexible, intellectually alert, able to command respect of inmates and staff, and manage mental stress.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing policies for custody, security, and/or treatment of inmates.
• Respond to major incidents and provide prompt support to inmates in emergencies.
• Promote positive behavior and atmosphere conducive to staff and inmate development.
• Direct work, train staff, evaluate performance, and handle disciplinary actions as needed.
• Review discipline matters and ensure staff compliance with procedures.
• Provide training on inmate discipline and maintain daily logs and reports.
