Job summary
Valar Atomics is seeking a Controls Software Engineer to develop, configure, test, and commission control system software for nuclear fuel manufacturing facilities. You will handle PLC/DCS programming, SCADA/HMI applications, ISA-88 batch control, alarm management, safety logic, historian configuration, and enterprise integration.
Responsibilities include industrial communication protocols, REST API/data interfaces, and software verification, with collaboration across I&C hardware and process
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronic, computer, or systems engineering or a related field.
- 3–7 years in controls software, PLC programming, or SCADA development in process industries.
- Hands-on PLC programming with major platforms and IEC 61131-3 languages.
- Experience with major SCADA platforms and ISA-101/HPHMI design principles.
- Familiarity with ISA-88 batch control and ISA-95 enterprise integration.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain PLC and DCS programs across multiple platforms.
- Configure SCADA and HMI applications and PLC/DCS data exchanges.
- Develop ISA-88 batch control and supervisory batch layer.
- Configure alarm management per ISA-18.2 and safety logic per IEC 61511.
- Configure historian systems and build dashboards for operations.
- Implement ISA-95 integration with MES/ERP/LIMS via REST APIs.
