Job summary

KingRecruitingServices in Wyoming, MI is seeking a Controls Engineer II to own the full lifecycle of automation projects. You will design, program, debug, integrate, and commission control systems, working with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley platforms, AutoCAD Electrical, and robotics, with travel up to 15%.

The role demands strong electrical design and software architecture skills, strict adherence to safety standards (NEC/NFPA 79), and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams on complex automation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years designing and programming custom industrial automation systems.
• Experience with NEC, NFPA 79, and RIA TR R15.06.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley platforms (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View).
• AutoCAD Electrical proficiency.
• Experience with major robot brands (FANUC, ABB, Yaskawa, KUKA) preferred.
• Strong root-cause analysis and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Design and program machine control architectures using PLCs and HMIs.
• Integrate robotics, vision systems, drives, and servo applications into control logic.
• Configure networks across DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, and Profinet.
• Create electrical panels, BOMs, and schematics in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Develop robot paths and offline programming for deployment.
• Coordinate system integration, debugging, and commissioning on-site.
• Provide on-site startup, training, and handover documentation.
• Conduct safety assessments and ensure compliance.
