Job summary

Modern Machining Solutions Inc in Wyoming, MI is seeking a Controls Engineer II to own the full lifecycle of custom automation and process-control projects. You will design architecture, program PLCs, integrate robotics, and guide system commissioning on site, with travel up to 15% and NEC/NFPA compliance.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in automation, Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley expertise, AutoCAD Electrical, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years designing, building, and programming custom industrial automation systems.
• Experience with NEC, NFPA 79, and RIA TR R15.06 electrical codes.
• Rockwell/Allen-Bradley platforms (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View) required; others preferred.
• Competent in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Robot integration experience preferred but not required.
• Travel up to 15% domestically and internationally for customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Design and detail control architectures using PLCs and HMIs.
• Program robots and other automation components and integrate vision systems.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams on system integration and debugging.
• Lead on-site commissioning and handover, and provide client training.
• Ensure safety assessments and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor junior controls engineers and share programming best practices.
