Job summary

ExcelliSearch, Inc. in Wyoming, MI is seeking a Controls Engineer II to own the full engineering lifecycle of custom automation systems, from inception through commissioning. You will design electrical panels, program PLCs, integrate robotics, and ensure safety and code compliance in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate has a B.S. in electrical engineering or related field, 5+ years of automation experience, proficiency with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, AutoCAD Electrical,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years designing, building, and programming automation systems.
• Experience with NEC, NFPA 79, and RIA TR 15.06.
• Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley experience required.
• AutoCAD Electrical competence.
• Robot brands (FANUC/ABB/Yaskawa/KUKA) preferred.
• Strong root-cause analysis and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead full engineering lifecycle for custom automation and process control systems.
• Inception through concept validation, programming, integration, debugging, and commissioning.
• Design electrical panels and SX/IO maps, using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to meet project deliverables.
• Develop and validate control software architecture and safety compliance.
• Provide on-site startup and client handover support.
