Job summary

LRSolutions, LLC in Wyoming, MI is seeking a Controls Engineer II to lead the full engineering lifecycle for custom automation and process control systems. You will design electrical panels, program robotics, integrate drives, and validate systems through commissioning at customer facilities.

The role requires a strong background in electrical design, Rockwell/AB platforms, AutoCAD Electrical, and a willingness to travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical industry experience).
• 5+ years of direct industry experience designing, building, and programming custom industrial automation systems.
• Experience with NEC, NFPA 79, and RIA TR 15.06.
• Experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley platforms is required; other platforms preferred.
• Competent in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Willing to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead full engineering lifecycle for custom automation and process control systems from inception to on-site commissioning.
• Design electrical panels, schematics, and BOMs using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Program and integrate robotics, vision systems, VFDs, and servo apps.
• Coordinate machine power-up, validation, and debugging.
• Provide on-site startup, training, and handover documentation.
• Mentor entry-level controls engineers.
