Job summary

ApartmentIQ is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead and scale the accounting function in our profitable PropTech SaaS company. Reporting to the CFO, you will own financial reporting, month-end close, audits, compliance, and accounting operations while partnering with executives to support growth.

You will build scalable processes, implement modern financial tools, and contribute to strategic decision‑making in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification required.
• 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Minimum of 3 years in a management role.
• Strong GAAP and ASC 606 knowledge.
• Experience leading audits and internal controls.
• Hands-on with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite).
• Advanced Excel and ability to implement scalable processes.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close and GAAP-compliant statements.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable and general ledger.
• Lead audits and manage external auditors and tax advisors.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and treasury activities.
• Hire, manage, and develop accounting team members.
• Lead by example with hands-on day-to-day accounting tasks.
