Job summary

Vidalytics, a video marketing platform, is seeking a hands-on Controller to own the monthly close, manage QuickBooks Online, RevRec, and revenue timing, and partner with the CEO and operations to scale the business.

You will lead full-cycle accounting, streamline processes, and strengthen reporting accuracy across departments. This remote-friendly role offers autonomy, collaboration with external CPA firms, and a path to influence company-wide financial systems as Vidalytics grows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience with full-cycle close.
• Strong GAAP knowledge including accruals, prepaids, and variance analysis.
• Extensive QuickBooks Online experience; certification is a plus.
• US university degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• Excel power-user with complex formulas; BI/workbook experience a plus.
• Familiarity with 1099/W-9 workflows, audit prep and compliance.
• Analytical, curious mindset with clear communication.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setup.
• Extreme attention to detail and ownership of financials.

Responsibilities

• Run full monthly close including accruals, prepaids, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Maintain daily/weekly bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online (QBO): bank feeds, coding, and reconciliations.
• Revenue recognition: update/run Excel model monthly, ensure accurate timing and classifications.
• AP & expense workflow: receive bills, import into QBO, create/match payments.
• Expense & class allocations: allocate costs per QBO classes for ROI tracking.
• Variance analysis: review vendors month over month and explain unusual changes.
• Audit & due diligence prep: provide clean financial packages and schedules.
• CPA onboarding & relationship management: onboard CPA firm and manage communications.
• Cash-to-accrual projects: lead cleanups to strengthen reporting accuracy.
• Historical financial cleanup: resolve legacy inconsistencies and proper coding.
• Special projects: ad-hoc analysis, data cleanup, process optimization.
• Cross-functional collaboration: with Operations, Finance, CEO for timely insights.
• Process documentation: maintain SOPs and document department processes.
• System expertise: internal QBO expert; handle integrations (Maxio) and external partners.
