Job summary

The Mom Project is seeking an autonomous Controller/VP of Accounting to own the entire accounting cycle in a 100% remote role. You will manage month-end, close processes, and GAAP reporting with no mid-level staff, and interact directly with the CFO to shape budgeting and cash forecasts.

As the sole accountant, you will ensure data integrity, oversee two non-accountant specialists, build scalable controls, and drive accurate financials across multi-product lines in a staffing marketplace.

Qualifications

• CPA or CMA credential preferred.
• 5–7+ years of progressive corporate accounting in staffing/marketplace.
• Experience running full-cycle close as an independent contributor.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes end-to-end.
• Audit and reconcile complex multi-product line transactions.
• Partner with CFO on budgeting and rolling cash flow forecasts.
• Manage Pay/Bill and Cash App/Collections specialists.
• Document internal controls and system integrations.
