Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Senior Control System Engineer to own control system functions and mentor a small team. You will guide engineers to deliver high-quality results across a global engineering community and support full life cycle development.

This role supports a hybrid work model in Indianapolis, with up to 20% travel to Rolls-Royce sites and related teams, and relocation assistance is available where needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher in relevant engineering with 2+ years in product development.
• Experience with FAA or military qualification of airborne systems is preferred.
• Proficient in model-based design and systems engineering practices.
• Knowledge of ARP4754A and DO-178C guidance is desirable.
• Strong teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams to develop control system requirements and verification artefacts for critical applications.
• Guide a small team ensuring technical outcomes meet standards and quality.
• Provide engineering process guidance and training to peers.
• Prepare and review technical documents for completeness and quality.
• Resolve complex technical problems using experience and knowledge.
• Communicate complex ideas clearly across the global engineering community.
