Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Senior Control System Engineer in Indianapolis, IN, offering hybrid work with some travel. You will own assigned control system functions, guide a small team, and mentor engineers across lifecycles. The role involves ARP4754A/DO-178C alignments and collaboration with a global engineering community.

You will travel up to 20% between Rolls-Royce sites and up to 10% other travel. The position supports full life cycle development, with opportunities to work remotely part of

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering with 2+ years of product development engineering experience
• Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering
• PhD in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering
• U.S. Citizen required
• 5+ years of product development engineering experience
• Experience with FAA or military qualification of airborne systems
• Application of agile development methods to deliver engineering work products
• Gas turbine engine, propulsion, or electrical control system experience
• Development of model-based systems with digital engineering toolsets (MATLAB, Simulink)
• Knowledge of systems engineering with robust design tools and techniques
• Experience with SysML modelling software and DOORS

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams and customers to develop control system requirements, design and verification for mission critical applications
• Work with cross-functional teams to uphold high standards of technical capability and teamwork
• Provide and support engineering process guidance and training
• Prepare and review engineering work products for technical documentation, quality and completeness
• Resolve complex problems using acquired technical experience
• Develop and communicate complex technical ideas clearly
