Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to lead complex contract management for aerospace projects. You will partner with legal, finance, procurement and engineering to streamline workflows, mitigate risks and ensure successful contract performance throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Minimum of 8-10 years' experience performing duties and responsibilities in an aerospace/defense/government contracting environment
• Presently hold or capable of obtaining a U.S. Security Clearance (Secret, Top Secret Preferred).
• Current expertise in Federal and International regulations, and relevant legal concepts
• Significant experience in directly related International and DoD/Federal prime government contract administration/management
• Entrepreneurial focus and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
• Demonstrated business acumen with experience in innovative solutions and problem solving
• Ability to translate between business and technical risk and communicate clearly to leadership
• Significant senior level experience in DoD/Federal prime government contract administration/management
• Proven Contract Drafting and Negotiation skills
• FAR/DFAR knowledge; OTA knowledge; understood US Government acquisition laws
• Broad experience with various contract types: firm fixed price, cost-type, commercial/non-commercial, production, development and sustainment
• Broad experience with license, non-disclosure and teaming agreements
• Knowledge of Truthful Cost or Pricing Data (FAR Part 15)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Collaborative style with senior stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Work with Operations, Contracts leaders and other functions on bid and proposal prep, contract negotiation, review and administration for new and sustaining products and services
• Perform contract management and admin duties throughout the lifecycle including proposal review, negotiations, modifications, close-outs and program support for multi-year contracts
• Draft, evaluate and negotiate NDAs, S/PAs, Subcontracts, Consulting, License, Master and other agreements incl. FAR-based contracts and OTAs
• Ensure adherence to applicable regulations and company policies
• Monitor performance of long-term contracts and summarize obligations and performance for internal stakeholders
• Coordinate flow-downs of terms with program management, engineering, finance, quality, supply chain and manufacturing
• Liaise with DCMA and other audit agencies; may lead audits
• Maintain accurate contract files and data; prepare reports and lead status reviews
• Review uploaded contracts-related data for accuracy in business systems
• Other duties as assigned
