Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to lead complex aerospace contracts, partnering with legal, finance, procurement, and engineering to streamline workflows and minimize risk.

The role develops bid, capture and negotiation processes, ensures performance through lifecycle, and supports amendments. Required are extensive DoD contract experience and strong drafting/negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 8-10 years' experience in aerospace/defense/government contracting.
• Presently hold or able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (Secret, Top Secret preferred).
• FAR/DFAR knowledge and OTA knowledge, working knowledge of US Government acquisition laws.
• Broad experience with a variety of contract types: firm fixed price, cost-type, commercial/non-commercial, production, development and sustainment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).

Responsibilities

• Lead bid, capture and contract negotiation processes; manage administrative duties throughout contract lifecycle for complex, multi-year programs.
• Draft, evaluate and negotiate agreements (NDAs, Sales/Purchase Agreements, Subcontracts, Consulting, License, Master agreements, and other FAR-based contracts/OTAs).
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company policies; monitor performance and mitigate risk.
• Coordinate flow-downs of terms with program management, engineering, finance, quality, supply chain, and other functions; liaise with DCMA and audits.
