Job summary

Argo Group is seeking a production underwriter in Houston to market, underwrite, and process submissions for assigned lines. This 100% in-office role requires on-site work during standard business hours.

You will underwrite new business and renewals, expand broker relationships in targeted territories, and participate in client meetings. Five years of underwriting with authority and strong negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum five years underwriting experience with authority.
• Strong negotiation skills and broker-relations experience.
• Proven relationships with professional liability brokers in the Central U.S.
• Ability to travel ~20% and work on-site.
• Proficiency in Excel/Outlook/Word.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and analyze new business and renewals for assigned area.
• Maintain marketing initiatives and communicate with brokers.
• Develop broker relationships and establish new ones in targeted territories.
• Attend client and broker meetings and manage submission pipeline.
• Use market intelligence to cross-sell and optimize profitability.
