Job summary

Argo Group is seeking a production underwriter in Houston, TX to market, underwrite and process assigned lines of business in an on-site role. You will build broker relationships, analyze submissions and contribute to a profitable book of business.

Responsibilities include underwriting new and renewal submissions, maintaining a submission pipeline, participating in client and broker meetings, and traveling about 20% of the time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Minimum five years underwriting experience with authority.
• IIA and CPCU designations strongly preferred.
• Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, Outlook and Word.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and analyze new business and renewal submissions for our assigned area.
• Ensure marketing initiatives are achieved and communicate our products to brokers.
• Develop existing broker relations and establish new relationships in targeted territories.
• Participate in client and broker meetings.
• Develop and maintain a submission pipeline to meet production and mix objectives.
• Use market contacts to bring in business and cross-sell other products.
