Job summary

Layton Construction in Hawaii seeks an experienced Superintendent to oversee daily job-site operations, scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment on a commercial project.

You will coordinate with the Project Manager, manage subcontractors, ensure adherence to specifications and schedules, and lead safety and quality initiatives while controlling labor costs.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or construction and 5+ years of commercial construction experience.
• Knowledge of construction processes and reading blueprints.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to sites.
• Strong written and verbal communication; Spanish preferred.
• Understanding of building codes and subcontractor scopes.

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to plan procedures and staffing for each phase of construction.
• Develop and use look-ahead schedules to assess progress and issues.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings with the Project Manager.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet work schedules.
• Inform all parties on construction issues and progress; coordinate with managers, craft personnel, and subcontractors.
• Resolve complaints with supervisory and labor personnel; coordinate with inspectors and suppliers.
