Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the Site Superintendent and Project Manager in developing, managing, and completing a job plan for assigned projects in Hawaii. This on-site role will involve travel as needed and coordinating with clients, architects, and subcontractors to keep programs on schedule.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, developing the job plan, procuring resources, resolving issues, and monitoring progress and costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in construction management.
• Experience overseeing commercial, industrial and/or multifamily projects.
• Valid driver's license and knowledge of building codes.
• Strong communication and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications to have a comprehensive knowledge of job requirements.
• Develop job plan, including schedule, access, manpower, building requirements.
• Procure tools, labor and some materials.
• Interact with architects and owners to resolve job issues.
• Inspect work in progress to ensure it conforms to specifications and schedules.
• Manage the project based on progress reports, materials used and costs.
• Comply with safety policies, practices and procedures.
