Job summary

Layton Construction seeks an Assistant Superintendent to work under the Site Superintendent and Project Manager to develop, manage, and complete a detailed job plan for assigned projects. The role is on-site in Hawaii with potential travel across the Islands.

The position requires a Bachelor's in construction management or related field, 2+ years in construction management, and experience overseeing commercial/industrial/multifamily projects. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience within the construction management industry.
• Experience providing oversight on commercial, industrial and/or multifamily projects from conception through completion.
• Knowledge of building codes and blueprints.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong problem solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications to understand job requirements.
• Develop job plan including schedule, access, manpower, and building requirements.
• Procure tools, labor and some materials.
• Interact with architects and owners to resolve issues.
• Communicate progress to supervisors, clients, and the General Superintendent.
• Manage project based on progress reports, materials used, and costs; adjust schedules as needed.
• Coordinate with Field Operations to allocate personnel across projects.
• Track and price extra work tickets, change requests, and back charges.
• Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed.
