Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Superintendent for Hawaii, responsible for daily job-site operations, scheduling, production, and procurement of materials and manpower. Supervises direct labor and coordinates any contracted work to ensure timely project completion.

Responsibilities include planning procedures, coordinating with the Project Manager, and maintaining open communication with clients, subs, and craft personnel to prevent delays and meet schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction and 5+ years commercial construction experience.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting specifications.
• Strong scheduling and procurement capabilities with look-ahead planning.
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites with a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Plan procedures and staffing for each phase based on schedules and equipment.
• Develop and use look-ahead schedules to monitor progress.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings with Project Manager.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet schedules.
• Ensure proper communication among stakeholders and update clients on progress.
• Inspect progress to ensure conformance to specs and schedules.
