Job summary

Great American Insurance Group in the Corporate Claims division seeks a Senior Construction Defect Claims Specialist to manage a large, complex book of property and construction defect claims, with cross training across lines and licensure in states requiring adjuster licenses.

Located in the United States, candidates may work on-site with some travel; strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and analytical skills are essential to drive settlements and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in property and casualty claims including litigation experience.
• Prior construction defect claims experience is required.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages a book of claims, including construction defect and property claims, with size/complexity.
• Conducts thorough investigations, assesses coverage and liability, and plans resolutions.
• Attends arbitrations, mediations, settlement conferences or trials as needed.
• Negotiates settlements within authority and escalates cases when necessary.
• Communicates complex information professionally to all parties.
• Ensures compliance with statutes, regulations and company procedures.
