Great American Insurance Group in Cincinnati is seeking a Senior Construction Defect Claims Specialist to focus on property and construction defect claims, with potential work in Ocean Marine and Aviation. The role requires cross-training across lines and licensure as an adjuster where needed.

You will manage complex claims, conduct investigations, negotiate settlements, and advise senior management on strategic issues while ensuring compliance with laws and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years in property and casualty claims with GL or property litigation.
• Experience with construction defect claims is required.
• Professional designation such as AIC or CPCU preferred.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a book of claims including construction defect and property claims.
• Conduct thorough investigations and assess coverage and liability.
• Attend arbitrations, mediations, settlements or trials as needed.
• Negotiate settlements and report to supervisors on large cases.
• Communicate complex information to stakeholders with a professional demeanor.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company procedures.
• Serve as technical expert on product(s).
• Advise executive management on strategic issues.
• Perform other duties.
