Job summary

Builder Bookkeep is a fully remote, results-driven accounting partner for builders nationwide. We seek a Sr. Accountant to oversee 15–30 construction clients, guiding job costing, payroll, and bill pay while leading client meetings with accuracy and value.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in accounting (2+ in construction), and QuickBooks Online expertise. You’ll mentor staff, deliver monthly and year-end statements, and drive KPI reporting, all while maintaining work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA a strong plus.
• Minimum 5 years accounting experience, with at least 2 years in construction accounting preferred.
• Experience in both public accounting and construction company experience valued.
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (≥3 years).
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills; able to explain financials clearly.
• Proven leadership abilities with experience managing a team.
• Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously without sacrificing quality.

Responsibilities

• Manage a book of 15 to 30 construction clients, ensuring timely financial processes.
• Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements, job costing, and WIP reports.
• Oversee, mentor, and support bookkeeping/admin assistants for quality and efficiency.
• Implement and maintain advanced controller services (online bill pay, invoicing, KPI tracking, monthly WIP).
• Lead client meetings, translate accounting data into actionable insights.
• Troubleshoot and resolve client accounting challenges within tight timelines.
