Job summary

Builder Bookkeep is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead a portfolio of construction clients remotely across the U.S. You’ll supervise a small bookkeeping team, prepare monthly/annual financials, job costing, and WIP reports, and present insights to clients.

Strong public accounting + industry experience preferred; CPA a plus, and proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required. The role offers full-time remote work, competitive pay ($80k–$110k), health benefits, a 401(k) match, PTO and holidays,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA a strong plus.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, construction industry preferred.
• Experience in both public accounting and construction companies is highly valued.
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online (3+ years).
• Strong client relationships and clear communication; leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage a book of 15–30 construction clients, ensuring on-time financial processes.
• Prepare and present monthly and year-end financial statements, job costing, and WIP reports.
• Oversee and mentor bookkeeping/admin staff for quality and efficiency.
• Implement and maintain controller services such as online bill pay, invoicing, KPI tracking, and monthly WIP reporting.
• Lead client meetings and translate accounting data into actionable insights.
• Troubleshoot client accounting challenges under tight deadlines.
