The Role

We’re hiring an Accounting Consultant who’s passionate and a little obsessed with client success, to own the day-to-day client relationship and coordinate a small accounting team delivering ongoing accounting services to construction companies. Reporting to a Team Manager, you’ll be the primary point of contact for your clients and play a hands-on role in monthly close, reporting, and job cost support.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing multiple client relationships, staying organized, and delivering accurate work on a predictable cadence. You’ll help clients improve their financial operations, stay on top of job performance, and make better decisions with cleaner reporting.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned construction clients
• Coordinate the accounting team supporting your clients to ensure deliverables are completed on time and to standard
• Execute monthly close activities, including reconciliations, job costing review, and financial reporting
• Review financial results with your Team Controller and flag issues, risks, or cleanup needs
• Analyze job cost reports and identify items requiring correction or client follow-up
• Support clients with goal setting, process improvements, and ongoing financial guidance
• Coordinate with outside partners (CPA firms, banks, insurance providers) as needed
• Manage client data collection and ensure timely receipt of items needed for close
• Identify workflow improvements that reduce friction for clients and your team
• Provide day-to-day guidance to junior team members assigned to your accounts
• Maintain consistent documentation and communication to support continuity and quality

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience with a strong grasp of core accounting principles
• Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines (multi-client experience is a plus)
• Strong client communication skills (written, verbal, and on calls)
• High attention to detail with a quality-first mindset
• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
• Experience working in accounting software (QuickBooks, IES, QBO, Sage, or similar)
• Authorized to work in the United States

Nice to Have

• Construction accounting experience (job costing, WIP, AIA billing)
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience; Sage 300 CRE and/or Foundation experience a plus
• Prior CAS (Client Accounting Services) / outsourced accounting experience
• Familiarity with construction tools (Adaptive, Procore, Knowify, Bill.com, Ramp, etc.)
• CPA/CMA (or actively pursuing)
• Experience coordinating small teams in a service delivery environment
