Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Compute Platform. You will own the primary compute orchestration infrastructure used by hundreds of engineers, built on Kubernetes and CNCF tools.

You’ll design tooling, automation, and new capabilities to deploy and operate critical services. You will collaborate with Security, Reliability, and Observability teams to raise the bar, and you'll enable AI-driven workflows that improve developer productivity while maintaining strong oversight

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with Kubernetes experience.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java for production-grade infra services.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP in production at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own design, build, and operate Kubernetes tooling and automation for the compute platform.
• Develop developer-facing tooling to improve interaction with Kubernetes, with AI-driven processes.
• Deliver new compute capabilities like one-off jobs, cron scheduling, and right-sizing.
• Improve platform observability, reduce toil, and streamline incident response.
• Collaborate with Security, Reliability, and Observability teams to meet standards.
