Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the compute platform’s orchestration infrastructure. Built on Kubernetes and CNCF tools, you’ll enable hundreds of engineers to deploy and operate critical services at scale.

You’ll ship tooling, automation, and new capabilities, partner with Security, Reliability, and Observability, and push the platform toward higher uptime, efficiency, and AI-enhanced workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience including Kubernetes or similar systems.
• Proficiency in Go, Python or Java with production-grade infra services.
• Hands-on AWS and/or GCP experience in large-scale deployments.
• Ability to design and operate distributed infrastructure and root-cause issues.
• Experience applying AI tooling to automation and workflow improvements.

Responsibilities

• Own design, build, and operation of Kubernetes cluster management tooling and automation.
• Build developer-facing tooling and workflows with AI-driven processes.
• Deliver net-new compute capabilities: one-off jobs, cron, deployment strategies, EFS, right-sizing.
• Automate toil, reduce on-call burden, improve observability and incident response.
• Partner with Security, Reliability, and Observability teams to meet standards.
