Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Compute Platform, shaping the orchestration layer that powers hundreds of services. You will build tooling around Kubernetes, integrate AI-driven workflows, and deliver new compute features such as one-off jobs and cron scheduling.

You will collaborate with Security, Reliability, and Observability teams to raise platform standards, while leveraging CNCF tools to improve reliability and efficiency across the stack.

Qualifications

• At least 5+ years in software engineering.
• 3+ years building/operating Kubernetes or comparable systems.

Responsibilities

• Own design, build, and operation of Kubernetes cluster management tooling.
• Develop developer-facing tooling to streamline Kubernetes usage and AI-driven processes.
• Introduce compute capabilities like one-off jobs, cron scheduling, and right-sizing.
• Automate toil and improve platform observability and incident response.
• Collaborate with Security, Reliability, and Observability teams to meet standards.
