Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own compute platform tooling and operations. You will design and ship automation that enables hundreds of engineers to deploy and operate services reliably at scale.

You will work withSecurity, Reliability, and Observability teams to raise our standards for uptime and performance, while integrating AI-driven processes to improve developer productivity and automation across the platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering with 3+ years operating Kubernetes or similar systems.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java for production-grade infra services.
• Hands-on with AWS and/or GCP at scale (EC2, EKS, IAM, VPC, networking).
• Experience designing and operating distributed infrastructure systems with root-cause analysis.
• Familiarity with CNCF tools (Helm, Prometheus, ArgoCD, Envoy) and applying them to infra problems.
• Experience applying AI tooling to automation and developer productivity.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, build, and operation of Kubernetes cluster management tooling and automation.
• Build developer-facing tooling and workflows, integrating AI-driven processes.
• Deliver net-new compute capabilities for service owners (one-off jobs, cron, deployment strategies).
• Drive operational excellence by automating toil and improving observability and incident response.
• Collaborate with Security, Reliability, and Observability teams to meet standards.
