Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Compute Platform to own the compute orchestration layer used by hundreds of engineers. You will work on Kubernetes-based tooling, AI-assisted workflows, and scalable deployment strategies to enable reliable service delivery across the product suite.

You’ll partner with Security, Reliability and Observability teams to raise platform standards, while expanding capabilities like one-off jobs, cron scheduling, and automated right-sizing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years building and operating Kubernetes or similar systems.
• Experience with AWS and/or GCP in production at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own design, build and operation of Kubernetes cluster management tooling and automation.
• Develop developer-facing tooling and workflows for Kubernetes integrations, including AI-driven processes.
• Deliver new compute capabilities like one-off jobs, cron scheduling, deployment strategies, and right-sizing.
• Automate toil, reduce on-call burden, and improve observability and incident response.
• Collaborate with Security, Reliability, and Observability teams to meet standards.
