Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Compute Platform to own container orchestration tooling and self-healing infra at scale. You will design and ship capabilities enabling hundreds of engineers to deploy services efficiently, with security and reliability in mind.

You will integrate AI-driven workflows, build developer tooling around Kubernetes, and partner with Security, Reliability, and Observability teams to raise the bar across the stack at Coinbase.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years building and operating Kubernetes or similar systems.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java for production infra services.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP in production at scale.
• Experience with CNCF tools Helm, Prometheus, ArgoCD, Envoy.
• Proven ability to apply AI tooling to infrastructure workflows.
• Commitment to responsible AI with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own design, build, and operation of Kubernetes tooling and automation.
• Build developer-facing tooling to improve interaction with Kubernetes, incl. AI-driven processes.
• Deliver compute capabilities for service owners (jobs, scheduling, deployment strategies, EFS, right-sizing).
• Automate toil, reduce on-call burden, and improve observability and incident response.
• Partner with Security, Reliability, and Observability to meet standards.
