Job summary

Travelers Insurance Company is seeking an experienced claims professional to investigate, evaluate, reserve, negotiate, and resolve severe and complex liability claims across jurisdictions. You will provide expert technical guidance, mentor others, and manage resources to achieve favorable outcomes while applying best practices and ensuring high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years experience handling serious injury and complex liability claims preferred.
• Proficiency in oral and written communications.
• Advanced communication skills to understand, interpret and convey complex information.
• Familiarity with commercial lines, policy language, exclusions and ISO forms.
• Ability to make independent decisions up to $1,000,000 without supervisor involvement.

Responsibilities

• Directly handle the Company's most severe and complex claims when coverage is $2 million+ and file exposure exceeds $2 million.
• Provide quality customer service, ensure timely coverage analysis and communication with insured.
• Investigate claims through strategic contact with policyholders, claimants, witnesses, experts.
• Interview witnesses, obtain statements, and conduct outside investigations as needed.
• Lead field severity collaborations, mentor junior staff and manage resources for complex cases.
