Job summary

CNA Insurance seeks a senior technical expert to lead resolution strategies for high‑severity D&O and E&O claims at a national level. You’ll own the most complex investigations, coordination with partners, and risk transfer actions while ensuring client service excellence.

This individual contributor role works with senior leadership to navigate regulatory landscapes, manage reserves, and drive multi‑year claim resolutions, mentoring peers along the way.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or equivalent; JD preferred.
• Typically ten years of relevant experience.
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire, where applicable.
• Advanced negotiation experience.
• Professional designations are highly encouraged (e.g. CPCU).

Responsibilities

• Manages an inventory of the most complex Public D&O and Financial Institutions E&O claims, with multi-year exposure, following protocols for coverage, investigations, and resolution strategies.
• Ensures exceptional customer service by driving improvements for all aspects of the claim/account and meeting quality targets.
• Verifies coverage, sets reserves, and interprets policy language to support claim valuation.
• Leads focused investigations to determine compensability and damages, coordinating with experts and parties as needed.
• Drives resolution strategies with internal/external partners, negotiates settlements, and may involve counsel for complex litigation.
• Establishes and manages significant claim budgets, coordinating resources for timely resolution.
