Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking a Senior Complex Casualty Claims Resolution Specialist for the Central Region. You will lead severe auto and homeowner’s casualty claims, collaborating with counsel and driving strategy to resolve high-exposure matters.

You will assess coverage, liability, and damages, influence settlement decisions, and coordinate with trial teams. The role offers hybrid/remote options with occasional in-person requirements based on location, and opportunities for advanced

Qualifications

• Must have expert knowledge of coverage, liability, and complex claims handling procedures.
• Ability to handle claims at the highest technical and complexity level.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws in adjuster’s jurisdiction.
• Working knowledge of claims operations and procedures.
• Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, analytical and negotiation skills.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain proper licensing as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage investigation, evaluation, and resolution of complex auto and homeowner’s casualty claims.
• Assess coverage, liability, and damages; recommend settlements and obtain authority review.
• Identify potentially suspicious claims and refer to SIU or pursue subrogation opportunities.
• Collaborate with trial counsel; participate in mediations, arbitrations, trials, hearings, and conferences.
• Prepare detailed litigation and trial reports for local management and Home Office.
• Communicate with policyholders, witnesses, attorneys, and claimants to gather information and provide guidance.
• Maintain reserves and adjust as needed; oversee outside and in-house counsel billing for compliance and cost efficiency.
