Job summary

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of coverage, liability, and complex claims handling procedures.
• Able to handle claims at the highest technical and complexity level.
• Knowledge of state and federal adjuster laws and regulations.
• Working knowledge of claims operations and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, analytical, investigative and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage investigation, evaluation, and resolution of complex auto and homeowner's casualty claims.
• Assess coverage, liability, and damages; advise on settlement strategies and escalate for authority review.
• Identify potentially suspicious claims and refer to SIU; pursue third party subrogation opportunities.
• Collaborate with trial counsel; attend mediations, arbitrations, trials, hearings, and conferences.
• Prepare detailed litigation and trial reports for local management and Home Office.
• Communicate with policyholders, witnesses, attorneys, and claimants to gather information and provide guidance.
• Maintain reserves and adjust as cases evolve beyond authority; safeguard confidential data.
