Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Community Association Manager to lead and direct day-to-day operations for a community, reporting to the Board and ensuring compliance, service delivery, and staff oversight. This role requires strong governance knowledge, budget management, and collaboration with committees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university, and three years’ experience in Property Operations, Hospitality or Construction; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have any state specific certifications and licenses or they are preferable to not required by the state.
• A minimum of seven years of successful community management experience or equivalent professional experience in a related field, with at least 4 of those years responsible for a staff with a variety of expertise, background and job assignments.
• Management experience in a small or medium-sized organization including responsibility for more than one functional department or division preferred.
• Understanding of physical building management, Condominium law, financial planning and law affecting property management.
• Valid Driver’s License and State Mandated Vehicle Insurance
• Commitment to obtain CPM, PCAM, ARM or AMS designations or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction in the development of short-term and long-range plans. Develop recommendations for goals and action plans to achieve Board objectives.
• Lead annual goal setting and review organization structure, job descriptions and functions; make recommendations to the Board as to changes.
• Partner with public, private and volunteer organizations to provide community services when necessary.
• Support the activities of the various Board sub-committees.
• Knowledge of all Community Governing documents; provide recommendations on revisions.
• Ensure seamless connection between the Board of Directors and committees.
• Provide community leadership and guidance to address homeowners’ needs or desires.
• Create, or cause to be created, and implement the annual working budget, subject to Board approval.
• Monitor and report on the monthly financial position of the association.
• Provide leadership to meetings involving the Board of Directors with agendas and reports.
• Recruit, hire, train and supervise all community staff per management plan.
• Collaborate with local emergency organizations to maintain evacuation plans.
• Identify, develop and implement programs to meet community needs.
• Attend professional group meetings; stay updated on trends in community management.
• Maintain on-site visibility in common areas and facilities.
• Ensure adherence to master/calendar budgets and subsidy program.
• Review policies to ensure compliance with civil code and governing documents.
• Perform building inspections and prepare action plans for improvements.
• Ensure protection of client funds and assets.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
