Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Commissioning Manager, Preconstruction, to lead Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities for PV, BESS, and HV from Business Development through LNTP. You will own estimates, scope, and schedules, coordinate with Preconstruction, Engineering, SCADA, and Operations, and ensure contractual requirements are met and a unified commissioning package handed to Operations.

This role can be fully remote or hybrid with regular in-office presence in the San Diego, CA area;

Responsibilities

• Own the commissioning workstream from BD through contract execution as the primary T&C contact.
• Partner with SOLV Preconstruction teams and SMEs to integrate scope, estimates, schedules and deliverables.
• Represent Testing & Commissioning during EPC contract reviews focusing on exhibits, specs, owner requirements, SOW and vendor scopes.
• Drive commissioning exhibit development during contract negotiation; coordinate revisions with BD, Preconstruction, Project Management and Legal.
• Lead the development and presentation of SOLV's standard commissioning requirements to clients; align expectations and resolve deviations.
• Evaluate feasibility and cost/schedule implications of proposed testing, energization, performance, reliability and turnover requirements.
• Maintain a commissioning requirements register linking obligations to deliverables, due dates and evidence of completion.
• Own commissioning estimate templates and the documented basis of estimate with labor, testing, OEM support, equipment, travel and risk allowances.
• Obtain and evaluate commissioning and testing proposals, validate scope and provide technical and commercial recommendations.
• Own early commissioning schedule templates and milestone logic, integrating dependencies and contractual completion dates.
• Write, review and maintain project-specific commissioning plans and DOR; coordinate technical review with HV, BESS/PV, Field Testing and other teams.
• Ensure commissioning plans define scope, readiness gates, testing approach, documentation, acceptance criteria and turnover requirements.
• Lead commissioning scope and risk reviews with clients and internal stakeholders; document decisions and escalate unresolved commitments.
• Lead clear client communication on scope, assumptions, risks and commitments; document decisions and follow-up actions.
• Assess changes.
