SouthState Bank is seeking a Commercial Portfolio Manager Team Lead in The Woodlands, TX to lead a portfolio management team and support Commercial loan portfolios for Relationship Managers. The role focuses on credit analysis, package preparation, and ensuring compliance with banking regulations and policies.

The successful candidate will oversee servicing reviews, risk grading, and collaboration with loan operations, credit leadership, and branch staff.

Qualifications

• Education: Four-year degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field; Graduation from a recognized school of banking is an asset or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial banking, business banking and/or portfolio management with at least 5 years of specific portfolio management and/or underwriting experience. Prior management experience is preferred.
• Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Knowledge in accounting and lending principles, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have an in-depth knowledge of Federal and State lending regulations and Bank policies related to lending procedures.

Responsabilités

• Manages and leads team of Portfolio Managers; training, coaching and developing teammates.
• Reviews and decisions Annual Servicing Reviews and other requests within designated loan authority.
• Analyzes financial information to evaluate credit worthiness of new and renewal loan requests.
• Compiles commercial loan packages with credit memos and risk analysis.
• Guides loan requests through Credit Approval Process and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Maintains large commercial loan portfolios with covenant testing and servicing reviews.
• Maintains documentation and coordinates with Relationship Managers to resolve deficiencies.
