Job summary

SouthState Bank is seeking a Commercial Portfolio Manager II to support the commercial loan and deposit portfolio for Relationship Managers. You will provide underwriting, portfolio management and superior client service in a dynamic banking environment.

The role requires coordinating loan packages, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining strong internal and external relationships to drive risk-adjusted returns for the bank.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field; Graduation from a recognized school of banking is an asset or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in credit analysis, commercial banking, business banking with at least 2 years of specific portfolio management and/or underwriting experience
• Knowledge in federal and state lending regulations and bank policies related to lending procedures

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial information to evaluate the credit worthiness of new loan requests and portfolio management activities
• Compile commercial loan packages with comprehensive credit memos and risk analysis
• Guide loan requests through Credit Approval Process ensuring structure meets client needs and bank objectives
• Maintain relationships with internal partners and clients to support portfolio management
• Assist Relationship Manager in credit presentations and portfolio updates
