Job summary

SouthState Bank is seeking a Portfolio Manager Team Lead to supervise a team of Commercial Portfolio Managers and support loan portfolios managed by Relationship Managers. You will analyze financials to assess creditworthiness, prepare complete loan packages, and ensure compliance with regulations and bank policies.

The role involves supervising covenant testing, annual reviews, and related projects, while maintaining strong partnerships with internal teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in business/finance-related field.
• Minimum 8 years of commercial banking experience.
• 5+ years in portfolio management and underwriting; prior management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Commercial Portfolio Managers; coach and develop teammates.
• Analyze credit worthiness of loan requests; compile complete credit packages.
• Ensure loans comply with state/federal regulations and bank policies.
• Guide loans through Credit Approval Process and monitor risk grades.
• Maintain documentation and support calls with Relationship Managers.
